Situated in the middle of a grove of palm trees, alongside the Tirajana reservoir, the house is set in a landscape of contrasts ranging from areas full of vegetation to others that are completely arid, and in an area full of birds whose song can be heard for hours during the day. Their song with its soft lulls incites you to set off along the footpaths that take you to different places without great physical exertion. One of the best areas on the island for climbing is found close by and of course, as it is close to the sea there are many aquatic activities available (fishing, windsurfing, diving). There are also many different routes for mountain biking, cycling, 4X4s. Information on any activity you wish to carry out in Tirajana or Gran Canaria is available.
The aborigines used to live here in this marvellous place and today you can still find remains of the settlement at Ansite, a very well known place, as it was here where the last of the ancient settlers were overcome in the conquest of Gran Canaria. The Hao Museum is situated in this village where you can appreciate various pieces found here and in the surrounding areas. Various craftsmen, specialists in pottery, palms and textiles, offer their products for sale and every Sunday an agricultural market takes place where you can buy different farm products.
The basin of Tirajana, in the south west of the island, boasts radiant sunshine throughout the year. Its good road network brings any services you may require closer to hand, and makes it a strategic point for connecting the rest of the island and allowing you to get to know this miniature continent.
Its characteristic arid landscape combined with the green of the palm tree groves, the autochthonous flora, and fauna dominated by the famous Canarian lizard and the variety of birds with their song provide for great harmony.
